Fight cellulite with your diet!
It’s well known that diet plays a major role in our overall health. And orange peel skin is no exception! To get rid of cellulite (or prevent it from appearing), you’ll need to take a serious look at what’s on your plate. Depending on your cellulite type, certain dietary adjustments are worth making.
Water-retention cellulite
If your cellulite is water-based, meaning it’s closely linked to water retention, you’ll want to avoid:
- Overly salty cheeses
- White bread
- Processed meats
- All refined sugars
- All excessively salty foods: ready meals, chips, crisps…
- Table salt
It’s recommended to favour:
- Fruits and vegetables, especially draining ones: berries, black radish, leek, asparagus, fennel, aubergine
- Citrus fruits (organic if possible): lemon, grapefruit, orange, clementines
- Potassium-rich foods: tomato paste, cacao, parsley, raisins, peanut butter, almonds, prunes, hazelnuts
- Green tea
- Whole grains and legumes
Adipose cellulite
La Adipose cellulite is linked to excessive absorption and storage of fat in adipose cells. It’s the result of an overly rich diet. Foods to avoid include:
- Processed meats
- Fried foods
- Cakes and pastries
- All processed meals and fast food
As for foods to put on your plate:
- Fruits and vegetables
- Lean proteins, including plant-based proteins and oily fish
- Legumes and nuts
- Polyunsaturated fats, found in avocado, olive oil or grape seed oil
Fibrous cellulite
This type of cellulite is a real nuisance! It’s stubborn, hardened and painful. Very difficult to treat, fibrous cellulite may still improve if you avoid:
- All industrial sugars: sodas, breakfast cereals, cakes, sweets, chocolate bars, ice cream
- Sugar substitutes and hidden sugars: sorbitol, glucose, glycerol, corn syrup
- Processed meats, especially industrial ones, and smoked meats and fish
- Low-fat and light products
Focus on foods that support collagen production and follow a low glycaemic index diet:
- Fruits and vegetables, especially those rich in vitamins C, A and E: citrus fruits, peppers, sweet potato, carrot, melon, fresh herbs, butternut squash, tomato
- Whole grains and legumes
- Seafood rich in zinc and selenium
- Full-fat dairy products
Fight cellulite with draining drinks!
To effectively combat orange peel skin and prevent water retention — which only worsens the dimpled appearance — you need to drink! But not just anything.
- Skip the sodas (even diet ones) and syrup-laden macchiatos and cappuccinos!
- Get back to drinking water 💧, which you can flavour with mint or lemon (like the Sassy Water).
- Also count on green tea, wonderfully detoxifying and delicious hot or cold.
- Coffee and maté are also worth considering for their fat-releasing properties — thanks to caffeine — but be sure not to sweeten them.
- Finally, you can also opt for natural draining drinks, such as our Cellulite Drainer. Simply mix it with water — its pineapple flavour is particularly refreshing! Its natural formula, based on draining green tea, stimulating papaya and fat-burning guarana, helps release stored fat and deeply drain the body. In short: the perfect drink against cellulite, whatever the type!
Fight cellulite with a massage routine!
What could be more natural and intuitive than massaging yourself? Massages help you reconnect with your body, embrace it and care for it. They’re also highly beneficial for skin quality. An effective anti-cellulite massage requires consistency and the right allies:
- A massage oil : it should be plant-based and natural, cold-pressed. Avocado, macadamia, sesame or wheat germ oils are particularly effective. Our massage oils — blends of various natural vegetable oils — are also ideal for draining adipocytes and eliminating toxins: stimulating, toning or regenerating — the choice is yours!
- An anti-cellulite tool: massaging with a cellulite cup, which replicates the pinch-and-roll technique, is highly effective at smoothing dimples and boosting microcirculation. A daily massage with the Cellublue Cup, for 3 minutes per area, delivers excellent results! It’s no surprise that 85% of users notice a visible reduction in cellulite on their thighs and buttocks after just one week of use!
Fight cellulite with aromatherapy!
Thinking about exploring natural skincare with essential oils ? Here’s what you need to know! Some essential oils are particularly effective against cellulite, thanks to their draining action (ideal for water-retention cellulite) or fat-releasing properties (perfect for adipose or fibrous cellulite). Juniper, cedar, rock samphire, grapefruit and cypress essential oils are the ones to go for.
A word of caution on how to use them: they’re not without side effects (citrus essential oils, for example, are photosensitising), they’re not recommended during pregnancy, and should never be applied neat to the skin. They must be diluted to 2–3% in a natural vegetable oil to create a homemade massage blend. Recipes should be carefully researched. We strongly recommend consulting your pharmacist, doctor or a phytotherapist-aromatherapist before experimenting! 🧙♀️
That said, we can assure you: essential oils are an effective method for tackling cellulite.
Fight cellulite with coffee grounds!
Instead of throwing away your used coffee pods, why not use the grounds for a 100% anti-cellulite recipe? ☕️ It sounds surprising, but the method is well established! Caffeine is a powerhouse ingredient against dimples, as it activates lipolysis (the draining of fat content from adipose cells).
To make your DIY scrub, collect the coffee grounds and mix them with a vegetable oil. Then massage the mixture onto your skin, ideally over a towel or in your bath. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat this every day for a month and see the difference — dimples don’t stand a chance!
If the process doesn’t appeal to you — and we completely understand that scrubbing down your shower or bath isn’t exactly a joy — you can always try our Anti-Cellulite Scrub — a smart scrub, rich in fat-releasing caffeine, natural and deliciously scented with monoi, designed to be used in the shower to smooth away cellulite!
Fight cellulite with exercise!
Exercise is an effective and natural way to reduce cellulite. It’s part of an overall healthy lifestyle. Certain types of exercise are particularly recommended depending on your cellulite type:
- Adipose cellulite: endurance sports, practised regularly and over long sessions, help release stored fat. The body draws on fat reserves to fuel the muscles. Run, swim or cycle 2–3 times a week for a minimum of 45 minutes!
- Water-retention cellulite: opt for gentle activities that tone muscles deeply and boost venous and lymphatic circulation, rather than high-impact sports (skip tennis, running or combat sports). The most effective activities: water-based ones, such as swimming or aquabike. Nordic walking is also excellent!
- Fibrous cellulite: activities combining cardio and strength training are particularly effective for tackling this type of cellulite, which needs to be shaken up! The elliptical trainer, weight training and HIIT, all highly intense, help target hardened cellulite and deliver impressive results.
To fight cellulite, choose plants with draining properties!
Think for example of artichoke, which supports digestion and the elimination of toxins! Or Java tea, which, thanks to its high flavonoid content, is an excellent drainer. You might also consider spirulina for its detox effect, meadowsweet, rich in potassium salts, or red vine for its stimulating effect on lymphatic circulation.
Finally, if you suffer from water-retention cellulite, you’ll benefit greatly from cherry stem tea and its diuretic properties!
Of course, beyond the massages and herbal teas you can prepare at home, we can’t encourage you enough to revisit your diet!
Fight cellulite with cold therapy!
Chills on those dimples! What if cold therapy — an effective and natural method — could help you eliminate your cellulite, whatever the type? Cryotherapy is a method that triggers lipolysis through thermogenesis.
Our Cold Cellulite Cream draws directly on this method to tackle dimples. With 96% naturally derived ingredients, a fat-releasing and stimulating cold effect, a melting texture and quick application — the microcrystals absorb seamlessly into the skin. This cream is truly a must-have for anyone looking to get rid of cellulite for good! Apply it once a day to the targeted area (buttocks, thighs, hips, knees and even arms !), using small circular movements. Within just one week, the cream’s smoothing effects are already noticeable!
Fight cellulite with fat-burning plants!
For adipose cellulite, we can’t recommend guarana and coffee highly enough! Both plants support lipolysis and also help combat water retention. And to act upstream — particularly on fat storage — couch grass, that so-called “weed”, is a perfect choice!
Finally, for adipose cellulite, green tea and nettle are also excellent allies. The former helps limit water retention and supports fat elimination, while the latter stimulates blood circulation!
