As you probably know, all women have different bodies. Some have plump buttocks, others have generous thighs, and then there are those with pronounced shoulders. Moreover, the latter often complain about the unfeminine nature of such an attribute. A very personal matter of taste… However, if you find your shoulders too broad, and would like to lose a little volume at this level, here are some ideas to explore.
Why are my shoulders particularly developed?
It may first of all be an innate morphological characteristic. Women with so-called “android” body types (also known as H- or V-shaped body shapes) tend to have more volume in their upper body: abdomen, chest, shoulders andarms. We therefore generally see in these women a generous bust, with opulent chest, built shoulders and/or strong arms.
Developed shoulders can also be the result of age. From perimenopause, the collapse in female sex hormone levels contributes to a change in the distribution of body fat. Traditionally, women, who until now focused on their lower body (buttocks, hips and thighs), now see their curves concentrated at their stomach, their shoulders and their arms. In general, they also gain a few bra sizes.
Marked shoulders can also be explained by intense sporting activity. We are then not in the presence of adiposity, but of muscles. Certain sports particularly promote the gain of muscle mass in the shoulders: weight training (press, lifting with dumbbells, chin row, working with a kettlebell), swimming (particularly crawl and butterfly), racket sports (tennis, squash), rowing (or rowing), windsurfing, boxing or even climbing. The shoulder muscles (teres major, trapezius, deltoid, etc.) are intensely used and thus gain volume.
Finally, certain diseases promote the gain of adipose mass in the upper body. We are particularly thinking of type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, PCOS, Cushing’s syndrome or, to a lesser extent, water retention.
What to do to lose shoulders?
- If your “massive” shoulders are complex, a few health and diet measures should remedy this. But a little remark beforehand:
- If your natural body shape is to have marked shoulders, you will naturally tend to maintain this stature.
- If your square shoulders are due to a protruding bone structure, you will not be able to change this physiological characteristic. And rather than experiencing it as a fault, play with it! Some people are self-conscious about their drooping shoulders…
- If your shoulders owe their volume to the presence of muscles, why complain about it? You certainly have an athletic figure that exudes health. But if you think that this volume is too large, you will simply have to opt for a sport that requires other parts of your body, to restore the balance of the silhouette.
On the other hand, if you notice that your shoulders are slightly rounded, you can act and refine them.
1- Take care of your diet

A diet that is too rich or unbalanced almost systematically leads to weight gain. If you naturally tend to store weight in your upper body, you can expect that this weight gain will be distributed among other areas in your shoulders and arms. Also, to refine your bust and lose shoulders, it seems essential to rebalance your diet, so that it perfectly meets your energy needs.
- Favor a varied and simple diet, based on minimally processed foods and if possible fresh. Among which we must find fruits and vegetables in abundance, a reasonable consumption of lean proteins and complex carbohydrates with low GI, which do not make you gain weight and provide essential energy to the body.
- Avoid fast sugars, which contribute to fat storage and are harmful to good health. Sweets, sugary drinks, but also products made from refined flour and hidden sugars.
- If you are prone to water retention, moderate your consumption of salt and salty foods (industrial preparations, cheese, cold meats and cured meats). Do not add salt to your diet and prefer other methods of seasoning, like spices and herbs.
- Being refined does not mean starving: stick to your 3-4 meals per day, balanced and reasonable, and cook your meals.
- Hydrate yourself sufficiently, at a rate of one and a half to two liters per day. Hydration will be based on water, tea, herbal teas. As such, to lose shoulders, think about our Fat-Burning Slimming Tea, which is an effective boost!
2- Sport, but not just any sport

As we saw previously, certain sports place particular strain on the shoulders, and thus lead to muscle mass gain. They should be avoided if you want to lose a little. However, they will be preferred if you want to sculpt your shoulders. So, to recap:
- If you already have significant muscle mass in your shoulders, work your lower body to rebalance your figure. Running, certain fitness movements (squats), cycling or rollerblading will allow you to strengthen your thighs and buttocks, for more harmonious proportions.
- If your imposing shoulders are due to an accumulation of fat, opt for complete sports (loss overall adipose), which will also work the shoulder muscles and tone back and arms. Certain exercises with a fitness elastic band (like ours !) are particularly effective for reshaping the upper body. Swimming is also excellent for slimming the silhouette and reshaping its contours. Also think about Nordic walking (with poles) and ball sports (handball, basketball), which work the muscles of the arms and shoulders.
3- A targeted care routine

To lose shoulders, you can also help yourself with treatments and massages. By locally stimulating subcutaneous fat and microcirculation, you can refine your shoulders and tone your arms. To do this:
- The daily application of our Thermoactive Slimming Cream can help you. This cream, enriched with guarana (caffeine) and chili pepper (capsaicin), promotes slimming by accelerating the oxidation and metabolism of fats (lipolysis by thermogenesis). Firming, it helps to reshape the contours of the silhouette while toning the skin.
- Assiduous massages with our Electric Slimming Device allow fat to be released deep and sculpt the body. The device is sold with 4 massage heads of different shapes and sizes, for massages adapted to each part of the body. Its vibrations restart microcirculation and encourage adipocyte emptying, for guaranteed loss of centimeters.
Here is a combo to consider to lose shoulders and finally display a sculpted and toned bust!
