Smoothies, we know them. Fruit juices, we know those too — but green juices, do they ring a bell? Imported from Asia, these vibrant green drinks are excellent for your health, your figure, and fighting cellulite. Find out why, and try our 2 delicious recipes!

What are green juices?

green juices qu'est-ce que c'estGreen juices are fruit and vegetable juices that typically include a vegetable (spinach, carrot, courgette, cucumber…), a cruciferous vegetable (cabbage, turnip, broccoli, radish…), and one or more fruits (usually pears or apples to soften the flavour of the vegetables). You can also add spices, herbs, or aromatics. To make green juices at home, a cold-press juicer is the way to go. Ready-made versions are available in supermarkets and health food stores, but if you go that route, always check the label to make sure there are no chemical additives or added sugars!

What are the benefits of green juices?

bienfaits green juicesGreen juices are a great option for those who don’t particularly enjoy eating vegetables in the traditional way. They’re also an excellent means of boosting your daily fruit and vegetable intake and supporting your body’s natural detox processes. Here are the main benefits of green juices:

They are very high in fibre: the fibre found in green juices helps stimulate and improve digestion. It’s also effective at keeping hunger at bay, which means fewer snacking urges. Fibre also helps regulate blood sugar levels, reducing fat storage. Less snacking, better fat burning, and less storage — perfect for tackling cellulite!

They contain antioxidants: antioxidants are essential and help protect our bodies. They play a key role in cell renewal and in keeping our organs functioning at their best.

They are packed with vitamins: vitamins play a vital role in how our bodies function and are best obtained through a healthy, balanced diet.

They help keep us well hydrated thanks to the water naturally found in fruits and vegetables — and as we know, staying properly hydrated is absolutely essential for feeling your best and helping to eliminate the fat deposits and toxins that contribute to cellulite!

They are low in calories: green juices contain no added sugars and are made exclusively from fruits and vegetables. They are therefore low in calories and can be a smart snack option if you’re looking to manage your weight and reduce cellulite while staying full of energy.

They are raw: green juices are cold-pressed from fresh fruits and vegetables. This preparation method preserves all the nutrients without any loss or degradation. Ideally, to make the most of your drink’s benefits, enjoy it immediately after making it.

  • 1 lemon

The anti-cellulite green juice

This green juice combines the well-known anti-cellulite properties of lemon and ginger with the lightness of cabbage and courgette. Grapes, meanwhile, help slow the release of sugars into the bloodstream, which helps prevent blood sugar spikes that trigger fat storage. The result? A drink that targets dimples, burns fat, detoxes, reduces water retention, and drains. In short, everything we need!

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 lemon
  • 10 grapes
  • 2cm fresh ginger
  • 1 large kale leaf
  • ½ courgette

Method

  1. If your fruits and vegetables are not organic, peel them; otherwise simply rinse them under cold water.
  2. Chop the cabbage, courgette, and lemons into pieces, then place them in the juicer along with the grapes. Once the juice is extracted, strain it through a sieve if needed.
  3. Meanwhile, grate the ginger very finely.
  4. Add the grated ginger to the green juice, stir, and enjoy!

Tip: if you don’t have a juicer, you can blend all the ingredients in a blender and then strain the mixture through a very fine sieve. Collect the juice and enjoy!
