You’ve always heard that massaging with coffee grounds can reduce cellulite, but never quite tried it. Is this age-old remedy actually effective — and how do you use coffee grounds as an anti-cellulite treatment? We explain everything here!
What effects do coffee grounds have on cellulite?
So what’s the real basis behind this age-old remedy that claims rubbing coffee grounds on your body helps eliminate cellulite ? It’s actually quite simple.
It all starts with the composition of coffee grounds themselves. As you probably know, coffee contains caffeine, a “fat-burning” ingredient widely used in slimming and anti-cellulite products (such as our Cryo Slimming Gels for Thighs and Stomach, or our Cellulite Scrub !). How does caffeine act on cellulite? It’s the isomers it contains that work on two levels:
- Paraxanthine (84%), which promotes lipolysis
- Theobromine (12%), a diuretic that triggers vasodilation and therefore improves blood and lymphatic circulation
The caffeine in coffee grounds therefore helps release stored fat and supports faster elimination through the body’s natural pathways.
Coffee grounds also act as a gentle natural exfoliant. Through the mechanical action of rubbing or massaging, the fine grains — non-abrasive to the skin — gently slough away dead cells, allowing the “fat-burning” fat-burning ” and draining properties of caffeine to penetrate far more effectively!
