To say goodbye to dimples on our arms, there’s no secret, ladies — it’s time to tone up! To help you get back to firm, slender arms free from cellulite, we’ve handpicked the 6 most effective exercises for you. Ready to get started?
Tip: you’ll need weights for some of these exercises. If you don’t have any, simply swap them out for water bottles (filled ones, of course…).
The plank — a classic for toning your arms
This exercise works the entire posterior chain (thighs, glutes, calves) and also strengthens your arms when performed on your hands. Remember to engage your core without arching your back, and hold the position for as long as possible.
Wall push-ups
For wall push-ups, all you need is… a wall! Place your hands, arms extended, flat against a wall at shoulder height, then step your feet hip-width apart. Simply bend your forearms to bring your body toward the wall, then push back to the starting position. If it feels too easy, move your hands lower!
Bicep curls — simple but incredibly effective for smoother arms
Sit down and hold a weight in each hand, arms extended in front of you with palms facing up. Bend your elbows to bring your hands toward your forehead. When your arms are extended, try to hold for a few seconds before bringing them back in. Sit up straight and keep your shoulders relaxed!
Lateral arm raises
Standing up, hold a weight in each hand with your arms at your sides. Raise your arms out to the sides, up to shoulder height if you can. Lower slowly, then repeat.
Overhead tricep extensions
Standing, hold a weight in your right hand and raise your arm straight up overhead. Keep your elbow fixed, then bend and straighten your forearm to perform the extension. Your hand should pass behind your head without letting your neck drop forward. Repeat on the other arm.
Dips — the final exercise in our arm cellulite-busting routine
To tone the back of your arms and reduce cellulite, dips are highly effective. For this all-round exercise, sit with your back to a chair or any other stable surface, grip the edge with both hands, bend your knees and lift your hips slightly off the ground. Bend your elbows to lower your body, then push back up. Focus the effort on your arms, not your legs!
If you practise these exercises regularly — perfect for targeting arm cellulite — those dimples won’t stand a chance for long! That said, to truly banish orange-peel skin, don’t forget to combine your routine with a balanced diet and regular cupping massage sessions.
