Hello ladies and welcome to DAY 1 of our 2016 Challenge: Eat, Move, Change!
It’s decided – 2016 is our year! The year of change, the year of healthier eating and a fitter body. Goodbye love handles, extra pounds and cellulite – we’re taking back control starting right now!!
After the holiday season, there’s nothing better than starting your day with a large glass of warm lemon water to detox your body.
For breakfast, toast a slice of wholegrain bread and top it with scrambled egg, a drizzle of honey and some dried fruit. Perfect for giving you energy, protein and keeping you full until lunch.
Today’s recipe
For lunch or dinner today, go for a Detox Broth!

Ingredients – serves 2:
1 garlic clove
1 onion
1 stock cube
1 leek
1 turnip
1L water
Method:
Take the garlic, onion, chilli, spices, lemongrass, an organic stock cube and the leek.
Chop, mince and crush all your spices together.
Finely slice the leek and turnip.
Sauté the spices, garlic and onion with the stock cube in a splash of water in a saucepan for a few minutes.
Add between 0.5 and 1 litre of water, cover and leave to boil for 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove from the heat, add the finely sliced vegetables, cover and leave for 5 minutes – it’s ready!
Serve your broth with two slices of cooked ham and a soy yogurt for dessert.
Today’s exercise: love handles!
Perfect for slimming the waist and saying goodbye to love handles!
For this exercise, you’ll need 2 x 2 kg dumbbells or 2 full water bottles (1.5L).
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, feet parallel, holding a dumbbell in each hand.
Lean your torso to the left, pushing your hand as low as possible – below your knee if you can. You should feel a stretch on your right side.
Use your oblique abs to straighten back up to the starting position, then lean to the right. This exercise is great for working the waist. Repeat the movement several times, always keeping your back straight.
Fitness challenge: complete 3 sets of 20 reps on each side (right and left).
Today’s tip: the basics of healthy eating

To start this new year on the right foot, let’s go back to the basics of healthy eating together 🙂
Eating well doesn’t mean depriving yourself.
First, because cutting out the things you enjoy will only put you in a bad mood – and second, because you can eat everything, just in reasonable amounts.
Speaking of amounts, you’ve probably heard the saying: “Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dine like a pauper.” Keep it in mind, because that’s broadly how it works. We strongly recommend a balanced, filling breakfast to keep you going until lunch.
For lunch, go for a source of protein (meat or fish) with starchy foods and vegetables. For dinner, skip the starchy foods and opt for something simple – a soup, an omelette, a mixed salad, etc. If you’re craving something sweet, have your dessert at lunchtime. Grab a piece of fruit as an afternoon snack if you feel peckish.
It’s also worth stopping eating after 10 pm, as your body tends to store more from that point on.
