You don’t always need to lace up your trainers to work your muscles, ladies! Today, we’re sharing our 5 little slimming exercises you can do anywhere: in front of your laptop, waiting for the bus, watching your favourite series or lying on the sofa… You’ll see — getting active has never been this easy!

Good to know: of course, these slimming exercises aren’t magic — they work best alongside a balanced diet, more intensive workout sessions and pinch-and-roll massages to help you tackle those stubborn extra pounds and cellulite… That said, practised every day, they’re a brilliant little boost towards a body you’ll love!

When you’re standing up…

Waiting for the metro, queuing for your lunch or lining up outside the cinema? Make the most of it with the first of our slimming exercises! Simply stand up straight, then squeeze your glutes as hard as you can. Try to hold for at least 30 seconds, release, then repeat. This move tones your entire bottom… Easy, right?

When you’re lying down…

Take a deep breath in, draw your navel in as far as possible — as if you’re trying to touch your spine — engage your entire core, and hold for a few seconds. Then breathe out and repeat. This exercise works your abdominal muscles and is also great for relieving stress. Handy!

When you’re back from the shops…

When you’ve got shopping bags to carry, take one in each hand, bend your arms and keep them close to your body while pushing your elbows back. Lower and repeat. This way, you’re working your arms, shoulders and back all at once. You can also do this exercise by bending your arms in front of you to target your biceps and triceps even more.

When you’re sitting down…

exos minceur facilesThink about it — so many of us spend a huge amount of time sitting during the day: on public transport in the morning, at the office during the day, in front of the TV in the evening… So let’s use that time to tone our legs! Simply sit up straight with your back tall and your hips pushed to the back of the seat, then lift your heels off the floor as high as you can, keeping your toes on the ground. Even better — do this with a weight on your knees, like a shopping bag, or even your little one! 😉

When you’re brushing your teeth: the last of our mini slimming exercises

It might sound a little odd, but when you think about it, we spend between 6 and 9 minutes brushing our teeth every day. Those minutes can easily be put to good use! Get into the habit of doing the wall sit exercise every time you brush. To do it, stand one step away from the wall with your back to it, then “sit” on an invisible chair by pressing your back flat against the wall. Your feet should be hip-width apart and your thighs parallel to the floor. Now all you have to do is engage your abs for the next 3 minutes — without forgetting to actually brush your teeth!
