Hello ladies,

Today is your second-to-last day of the 2017 Challenge!

We are so proud of you for making it this far and want to congratulate you on your determination to live a better life! You deserve it!

On the agenda for this 9th day: 1 recipe for carrot soup, ⭐️ today’s exercise: the plank and 1 little anti-cellulite tip: the pinch-and-roll technique.

Let’s go!

Today’s recipe

For lunch or dinner today, it’s all about carrot soup!

Ingredients (serves 2):
300g carrots
200g potatoes
50cl to 75cl water, depending on desired consistency
2 portions of cream cheese (optional)
Juice of one lemon
Salt, pepper, nutmeg, garlic.

Method:
Peel and roughly chop the potatoes and carrots. Place them in the water with the lemon juice, salt, pepper, nutmeg and garlic. Cover and simmer on a low heat for about 30 minutes (a gentle boil).
Once cooked, add the cream cheese portions.
Blend everything together. Ready to serve!

To give us the protein we need to stay energised, pair your delicious soup with a white fish en papillote or a lemon chicken breast.

OUR COACHING TIP: Carrot, cooked or raw, is undeniably one of our best friends. Highly valued for its benefits for our skin, packed with vitamins and minerals, its virtues are truly wide-ranging. Here are our top 3:

Great for your figure

Exceptionally rich in vitamins, carrot is an undeniable ally for a healthy weight. Cooked or raw, glazed or grated, it contains just 33 calories per 100g. You can even treat yourself to a knob of butter alongside your carrots!

Great for your skin

Carrots are rich in beta-carotene. A powerful antioxidant, beta-carotene helps reduce the appearance of age spots, supports skin health and youthfulness, and promotes healing. It is at once anti-ageing, protective and purifying.

A natural glow

The beta-carotene in carrots is a powerful antioxidant that helps slow the visible effects of ageing by neutralising free radicals. It strengthens UV resistance, brightens your complexion and extends your tan.

⭐️ Today’s exercise: the plank!

You’ve probably heard of the plank: it’s the ultimate move for toning your body and building deep core strength!

1- Position yourself on the floor, resting on your elbows, forearms and the tips of your toes.

2- Once in position, the goal is to engage your core as much as possible, along with the rest of your body.

3- The most important thing when doing a plank is not to raise or drop your hips too much. Your body should remain as straight as possible, in a horizontal line.

4- To come out of the position, gently lower your knees to the floor and straighten your arms, placing them alongside your body.

HOW MANY REPS SHOULD I DO?

We recommend starting with 4 x 30 seconds of plank. You’ve got this!
Feel free to build up gradually! The goal is to stay consistent and not get discouraged during those first sessions!

Today’s tip

The pinch-and-roll technique

92% of women have cellulite, which is why today we’re sharing our top tip for tackling it: the pinch-and-roll technique!
The pinch-and-roll is THE most recognised anti-cellulite massage technique out there.

It involves “kneading” the skin with your hands over the areas of the body affected by cellulite.
The movement is performed from the bottom upwards to improve circulation. While this technique can sometimes be uncomfortable, it is remarkably effective against all types of cellulite.

Don’t forget to follow these guidelines before you begin:
• The massage should always be performed on skin that has been oiled beforehand.
• The pinch-and-roll technique should not be used on broken or wounded skin, as this may worsen injuries and impair healing.
• Drink at least 2 large glasses of water after each session to help drain toxins.

For those who own a Cellublue cup, do a session tonight on the area of your choice (thighs, glutes, stomach or arms).
