3 Days Before Christmas – December 22nd

Hello ladies!

Christmas is almost here! How about treating yourself to a detox day before the big festive feast marathon?

We’ve put together a programme for a perfect day. Feel free to use it again after Christmas, to get ready for New Year’s Eve!

This day isn’t about losing weight. It’s simply about feeling lighter and getting your energy back, so you’re at your best this weekend!

My Detox Day

All day long:

Drink water before you even feel thirsty! To help you remember, always keep a bottle of water within reach.

When you wake up:

  • As soon as the alarm goes off, take a moment to stretch while still lying down.
  • Get up and drink a glass of warm water with the juice of an organic lemon.
  • You can even try some simple yoga poses without even getting out of bed!yoga reveil

Breakfast:

Try not to skip breakfast – it’s an essential meal for restoring your body’s energy after a good night’s sleep. As soon as hunger strikes, go for a hearty, balanced meal:

  • ½ grapefruit
  • A bowl of porridge (40g of oats cooked in 200ml of plant-based milk)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tea, ideally a detox blend, such as the Thé Brûle-Graisses

Lunch:

Go for a vegetarian meal. This lunch will give you all the nutrients you need to stay energised until the evening, with no heavy or sluggish feeling.

  • ½ avocado
  • 1 serving of brown rice
  • 1 serving of courgette with curry
  • 1 fried egg
  • 1 apple
  • 1 square of dark chocolate

Snack:

If you feel a little peckish, go for a smoothie! Here’s a perfect recipe for winter:

Ingredients:

  • 3 clementines
  • 1 banana
  • 1 pot of 0% fat fromage blanc
  • 1 tsp honey
  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Method:

  1. Peel the clementines and remove any pips if needed
  2. Peel the banana and slice it
  3. Place the fruit in a blender, add the fromage blanc, honey and cinnamon
  4. Blend until smooth

Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Exercise:

When you get home, lace up your trainers and go for a full-body workout without leaving the house!

Dinner:

For a good night’s sleep, keep dinner light:

  • 1 bowl of vegetable soup
  • 1 slice of wholegrain bread
  • 1 portion of fresh cheese
  • 1 fruit compote

Before bed:

Before going to sleep, you can easily do a short relaxation session.

Follow the guide!

  • Step 1: sit comfortably and close your eyes. Place one hand on your stomach and the other on your chest. Breathe in deeply, letting your belly expand (your chest should stay still), then breathe out, drawing your belly in. Repeat at least 5 deep breaths.
  • Step 2: continue breathing deeply as in step 1. Imagine all tension and negative feelings leaving your body with each exhale. To help, you can “visualise” these negative thoughts disappearing (e.g. smoke leaving your body, bubbles floating away, etc.).
  • Step 3: for this step, try to clear your mind (you can picture an image of your choice that helps you unwind). Keeping your back straight, open your shoulders back as far as possible and inhale at the same time. As you exhale, slowly let your shoulders drop back to their natural position. Repeat at least 5 deep breaths.
  • Step 4: gently stand up. Once upright, stretch by clasping your hands together and reaching them as high as possible towards the ceiling. Breathe deeply. On an exhale, round your back and let your arms and head drop down towards the floor.

The little extra:
